The new CBC analyzer will arrive within the next 2 weeks. Validation will need to be performed and signed off. CBC’s will not be changing as the new analyzer is a new version of the same brand that we currently. All parameters that are currently reported for CBC’s with or without Diff., and body fluid cell counts will remain the same.

Went live with new aTPO test on our Atellica Chemistry Analyzers. The new assay utilizes an enhanced assay design with improved standardization and analytical performance to increase the sensitivity.

Important Interpretation Notes for New aTPO test

Numeric results from the previous aTPO assay and the new aTPOII assay are not interchangeable.

Patients being monitored over time may demonstrate different numerical values after implementation due to differences in assay methodology and standardization.

The new positive cutoff/reference range is 10.4 IU/mL.

The presence or absence of thyroid peroxidase antibodies should continue to be interpreted in conjunction with the patient’s clinical presentation and other thyroid testing.
