UNC Health SE FM Program (Medical Education)

The UNC Health Southeastern Family Medicine Residency Program is expanding its commitment to community health by developing free clinics and strengthening links to local SDoH resources. RMD Centers supports this work by designing data systems that capture real-world social and clinical information outside of Epic, helping residents and faculty understand the broader needs of the populations they serve. We collaborate closely on grant writing, program evaluation, and community-partner data integration to ensure that every clinic initiative is supported by clear evidence, strong outcomes, and meaningful community impact.

CryNAS Project - Dr. Martin Moya (Clinical Trial)

Led by Dr. Martin Moya, the CryNAS Project is an innovative research initiative within the UNC Health Southeastern NICU that records and analyzes the cries of newborns with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). By applying advanced machine-learning techniques, the project seeks to identify acoustic patterns that correlate with withdrawal severity, recovery trajectories, and treatment response—offering a non-invasive tool to support clinical decision-making for vulnerable infants.

RMD Centers supports CryNAS by building secure data-collection workflows, organizing research datasets, and developing the end-to-end data pipeline needed to train and refine the machine-learning models. Together, we are helping translate raw clinical audio into meaningful insights that may one day improve care for NAS-affected newborns across rural communities and beyond.

New Roseland Community Hospital (Safety Net Hospital)

New Roseland Community Hospital partners with RMD Centers to strengthen data-driven operations and enhance its ability to demonstrate impact across community health initiatives. Our work includes supporting grants management, building reporting frameworks, and creating customized dashboards within Meditech Expanse to track key outcomes, performance indicators, and grant-required metrics. By modernizing data workflows and improving visibility into clinical and community-level measures, RMD Centers helps Roseland advance its mission, secure continued funding, and effectively serve patients in one of Chicago’s most underserved regions.
